Hello guys!
My question is: what will happened with person which will lost job being under work permit in Canada, but still has, let say, a year remaining time before WP expiration?
Can person remain in Canada and look for new job, can apply for PR ?

A foreign worker is permitted to remain in Canada for the initial duration of his visa, even if employment is terminated. A new work permit or PR status may be sought in this time.

One more thing, person which was laid off is eligaable to get benefits under EI program?
