I have work permit and its expiring shortly and i have also filed for extension. The present employer is not ready to extend my work permit. I have got another job offer and they are ready to sponsor me. And they are filing for LMO.

Issue:

The present employer wants me to work till the expiry of WP. But i would like to take off for few days and then start my new job

Is that ok if i resign and stay at home for few days till i get my new work permit ? But he claims that i cant resign till the expiry of my work permit

please advice

There is nothing preventing resignation by a work permit holder.
