Work Permit to the Border

Postby dany69 on Fri Jul 29, 2011 5:22 pm

Hello everyone
I'm planing to come in Canada as visitors for couple months, but i have some question. If i'll find a job, can I apply at the border in US?. I'm a temporary resident visa exempt. If I can do, which document I need to support my application?? and which application i must be to use IMM 1295?? and could be some risk? i must to pay 150$ in cash directly to the border?

Hope in you help and some advice

It is possible that you may be able to apply at the port of entry, but you may need a Labour Market Opinion. The details of the case would determine the viability of such and the supporting materials required for the application. Certainly, the CAD$150 fee will apply and 1295 forms are not generally used for Canadian work visa applications at ports of entry.
