You can apply for a work permit at this stage, but it would not be under the provisions of the open work permits granted to sponsorees in inland family class cases. You would need to pursue a work permit under the standard provisions on the basis of a job offer from a Canadian employer.

Alex, your question is not clear. If you have permission to work in Canada then you can continue to do so for whatever duration that permission was granted for.

If you do not yet have a work permit, but a prospective employer is willing to support an application for such, then you should typically wait until the issuance of the work permit prior to engaging in work in Canada, regardless of whether or not a salary is received or not.

Work Permit

Postby kuneho1208 on Mon Feb 27, 2006 1:38 am

Sir,

I have a job offered in Calgary and on the process of putting together the information about the job and the company that are needed for my permit application . My family would be included on my application. Unfortunately, my husband has been suddenly admitted to hospital here in Singapore and has been diagnosed with chronic kidney failure and has started his dialysis.

With my husband condition, is there a chance to pass our medical? And what chances do we have for our application to be approved?

I really appreciate any information I will get from you.

Thank you.

If his condition is sufficiently serious, it is possible that it would affect the outcome of his medical assessment and therefore possibly your application.
