hi all

since the US govt is be super stalled on their passport service, im in a pickle.

im applying for a temp. work permit at the Buffalo Consulate, and the documents required section of the website is a little ambigous. Can I submit a work permit application ot the buffalo office with just a birth certificate?

(the website says: "us citizens submit either pass port or birth cert. copy.", but then another part of the buffalo's website says a passport is needed...!?)

anyone know a 100% positive answer to this? please help, thanks.

It would typically be possible for a US citizen to apply with other evidence of nationality, such as a birth certificate.
