WORK PERMIT FOR CANADA

Postby DARFLEX on Sat Nov 14, 2009 6:48 pm

Hi i am looking for some information on temporary working visas in Canada.

I have been working as an external auditor for over 5 yrs for a reputable international accounting firm. I would like to go to Canada for a period of 2 -3yrs along with my wife who is a Registered Nurse(RN) for 5yrs.
We would like to go there and be free to find our own job once we get there.
I have relatives there that will accommodate us.

Could you please recommend a visa that would most suit our needs and how we go about applying for same.

Thanks,
Vaughn

As a general rule, you must have a job offer in order to seek a work permit. You and/or your wife may seek admission to Canada as a visitor and research employment during that time, but the work permit will be required before you can commence work. If either yourself of your wife become eligible for a work permit, the other could likely become eligible for an open work permit, depending on the duration and skill level of the principal candidate's work permit.
