Hello,

I am currently working in Toronto, with valid work permit till end of September,2010. My visa is also ending in September,2010 (same date as work permit).
I will be travelling in mid-August for 2 weeks back to native country in Asia, and will be back in Canada by end of August.

My query is: Can I apply my work permit extension, now, before I travel outside Canada so which will be in process when I am outside Canada. When I come back from my native country, I will still be holding a valid VISA and valid Work Permit (till end of September) when I am re-entering Canada.
Or do I need to apply for my work permit extension only after I come back in end of August.

You may apply for extension of your work permit prior to your departure. You should be certain that any mail, fax or phone messages are accessible during your absence.
