Work Permit--Either Temporary or Permant

Postby Tlarry on Fri Sep 28, 2007 5:15 am

I'm a U.S Citizen.I speak Portuguese (native speaker), French (fluently), Spanish ( fluently), Russian (fluently). My work experience ranges from International Customer Service and Interpretation Services over the phone for various Interpretation/Translation companies.I do not hold B.A. I have also been approaching several Canadian companies so that I can get job offer, but they tell me that I will have to secure the work permit on my own and then contact them. But the CCI requires that as a U.S citizen I will need a job offer to be granted a work permit.Does anyone have an idea who I have to contact or address my concernes?Thank you!

The general rule is that the work permit can only be sought on the basis of a specific offer of employment. Unfortunately, many Canadian employers are not familiar with the provisions and requirements.
