Work Permit Canada, US Resident

Postby Sully on Sat Aug 11, 2007 2:46 pm

I am a US resident, havent been to college yet, My question is if i am able to obtain a temporary permit to work in canada as a bass player in a band which will be touring next summer. The band cannot, or will choose not to, continue with any kind of tour or shows, without their bass player, so Is this possible, is this sufficient "work" and what do i need to prove or show to obtain this kind of permit. Anyyyy information would be so helpful. I've been to canada and been trying to figure out a proper way to obtain a permit to work in canada and play music with my band, which has plenty of work to be done. So please, anyone help?

If the venues are bar or restaurant type locales, a Labour Market Opinion and work permit would be required to be eligible to perform. Otherwise, you may be eligible for exemption from the requirement of a work permit.
