Work permit at port of entry - few questions

Postby Dia1984 on Fri Dec 16, 2011 11:12 pm

Hi,

Am an Indian national currently on L1 visa working in the US.
I got a job offer from a Canadian company and I have received positive LMO as well.

1. Am I eligible to apply work permit at port of entry?
2. If not, what are next steps for fast processing. What are current processing times at Detroit, Buffalo, NYC? Any ideas?

Greatly appreciate any help on this.

Thanks!

Eligibility for port of entry processing is based on nationality. If you are of a nationality that is passport visa exempt, then port of entry processing is generally possible. If not, then a visa office responsible for your citizenship and/or legal residence may be used. Current delays at the visa offices mentioned are approximately the same.
