Work Permit

Postby dhandpk on Wed Apr 06, 2011 2:04 am

Hi,
I work for a company here in US, and having enough visa problems. Now that I wish to work in Canada.
My company that I currently work for doesn't have a branch or office in Canada, but we have several clients and I have traveled to Canada a number of times.
Is it possible that my company in US sponsor me a work permit and can i work from canada.
What would be the best type of visa or any other suggestion on me getting to canada
Your suggestion would be of great help.

Kindly Advice.

It is theoretically viable for a work permit to e sought on the basis of the US company assigning you to an assignment with a client in Canada. This does not eliminate the need for support by that Canadian company, however, and they could in fact be responsible for undertaking a Labour Market Opinion to allow for your admission. There is not otherwise enough detail here to determine what the exact requirements would be of either party in such a situation.
