Work perm - vicious circle?

Postby expeter on Mon Aug 08, 2011 9:06 am

Hello,

I've been reading about work permits in Canada on this webpage and I have got this feeling that obtaining it is almost impossible. How can I obtain a work permit if no one is going to hire me as I haven't got the work permit? It turns into a vicious circle I reckon.
Are there any other ways to obtain it, e.g. to go to Canada for say 3 weeks holidays, do some market research (would I have more chances to get it if I showed up in person)? I am from Poland originally and as far as I know it's not an easy one to get there is it ?

Thanks for any pieces of advice.

yes, it could be considered a viscous circle, and mainly because employers in Canada do not understand the process. Over 100,000 thousand people came into Canada on Temporary Work Permits last year. But for most work permits you need a job offer first that usually has to approved by Service Canada via a Labour Market Opinion (LMO).

Coming over to look for work is not s bad idea, but it would best if you had some interviews lined up before you come over. You also must make sure you are "ready' in the sense that your CV is up to Canadian standards. Email me here at the forum and I can recommend some services for you to use.
