Work in Canada in 2010

Postby simond888 on Thu Nov 12, 2009 5:12 am

Hi i am looking for some information on temporary working visas in Canada.

I have been working in accounting and management consulting for 3.5 yrs. Id like to go to canada for an initial period of 12 months (and may want to extend my stay longer if all goes well). I would like to go there and be free to find my own job once I get there. I would like to get out of the area I have been in for a year and would welcome some bar or Dj work or work that is not office based for a change.I would also like the option of travelling to the US and back multiple times during my stay.

Is it possible to obtain a 12 month multiple entry working visa, that gives me the option to look for a job when I get there. Is this possible or can you recommend a visa that would most suit my needs.

Thanks,
Simon

Only an open work permit would permit you to do as you plan. You would have to explore youth programs such as the Student Work-Away/Work-Holiday Program, which is the only typical mechanism for an open work permit in the circumstances ou describe.
