Wife's Visa Denied

Postby budhakh on Wed Jun 16, 2010 5:49 pm

Hi David,

I am from India and am working in Montreal from October 2009 and have my work permit till October 2010. I am extending my work permit for 2 years as I will get Job Offer for the next 2 years. Please let me know about the extension as to what I should do.

Another thing is that I went back to India in May and got married. My wife who is doing PhD in India, appiled for a temporary visitor visa so that she could visit me for a few days (20 days), but her TRV visa application was denied twice citing the factor that she may not come back to India after her visa expires. This factor was cited even though we provided enough documentations like No-Objection-Certificate and Letter of leave from her University. Another reason the Visa Officer said was that she did not have enough funds even though we showed sufficient funds in her bank account. How much is necessary to be shown?

My question is once I extend my Work Visa, should she apply as a dependent visa for as long as I am here even though she would be visiting me for a few days only? Or she should apply for a few days as temporary visa? Please advise us as we are scared as our Visa application was denied twice?

One last question, I am thinking to apply for PR once I extend my Work Visa. Do you provide professional help in regard to this?

Regards
Budha
