Washington DC- Temporary Work permit delays.

Postby byebyebloomington on Thu Jun 02, 2011 3:45 pm

My husband has a job offer from Canada. We have applied for Temporary Work permit and TRV for spouse at Washington DC Canadian embassy on 13 April 2011. We have not heard back from the embassy yet . Is there a way to track /expedite the application ? Has anyone else in this forum applied at the same time and are facing delays ?

Hi,
My husband has also applied for the temporary work permit on April 5, 2011 at Detroit Canadian Embassy. But we are also waiting for our passports and he was supposed to join on May 1, 2011. Please update if you recieve your passports.

Bilal, I will definitely update the forum once we receive our passports.
Did you try contacting the embassy for any updates since your application has exceeded the 2 months period ?

Hi,

We have recieved our passports yesterday after almost 2 months. But what they did is they issued a visa to my husband and after holding my and my son's passports (who is just 6 months old) for 2 months they are saying that you have to apply separately. And we are living in a hotel for last 3 weeks. They should immediately told us that this is the case and we are not processing your application. And now my husband has to join his job and I am going back to my home country and i'll apply there. Lets see what happens next. Best of luck to all.
