Our Peruvian nanny has just received her W-1 visa and will be moving to Canada next week to work for us under the live-in caregiver program. Will she be able to travel to the USA as well (similar to ourselves with a passport for identification), or will she still need to apply for a visa to enter the USA? I recall seeing something previously that said that this type of visa was similar to a resident visa and therefore, like other Canadians and residents, she did not need a US entry visa.
Your question should be referred to an expert in US immigration matters. However, as a general rule, a Canadian work permit does not have any positive or negative bearing on visa requirements for travel to the USA.
