Visa for Dependent Child (5 yrs.old) of Skilled Worker NOC B

I am in Canada but my wife and 5-year old son are in the Philippines. If I am a Skilled Worker under NOC B, I understand that my wife can apply for an open work permit to be able to follow me here and work for any employer with contract duration concurrent with mine. But how about my dependent child who is just 5 years old? He can't apply for an open work permit obviously, what type of application does he need to accomplish to be able to go here? A visit visa? If so, should it be a separate application with my wife who will apply for open work permit or can be concurrently? Your advice will be so much appreciated.

He may apply for a temporary resident (visitor) visa or for a study permit.
