I am US green holder who just completed one year work permit (expires Aug 3rd). I went to extend at the 1000 Island border, they have mentioned I need to apply at VagerVille. I have only a week before the work permit expires, May I try again at border and request for a new work permit?
or Can I continue my work when I apply for the extension of work permit? If so how long can I work ?

Extensions may only be processed via the CPC in Vegreville. With such an application submitted prior to the expiration of a work permit, implied status would typically allow continued work for a candidate who remains in Canada throughout that process. A new application may otherwise be processed at a port of entry.
