My husband and i came to canada on april 3rd 2010 .He came to canada on an inter-company transfer.HE was given a trv and work permit till 5th april 2011.Now my passport expires on 19th Feb 2011, so i was given a trv till 19th jan 2011 and was issued a open work permit till 19th feb 2011 ie till the validity of my passport.I was told by the immigration officer at the port of entry that once i got a new passport i could apply for the extension of my open work permit to match my husband's time period ie till april 2011.Now i have got a new passport and want to extend my open work permit but an confused as to how to proceed.I have not got any job so far and am not working.HOw do i apply for the open work permit.Please advise.Its urgent .also will i have to apply before 30th september in order to avoid the new immigration rules.My husband came here as a senior manager for a leading IT firm.

You may apply inland to the CPC in Vegreville, AB, a visa office outside Canada, or at a Canadian port of entry (the latter depending on citizenship).
