Traveling through Canada as work

Postby pauljmcmanus on Fri Jan 07, 2011 1:37 pm

Hello,

I work for a bike tour company that is organizing a tour through the US and Canada. We'll be driving a US registered vehicle across the border and have 2 US staff and 1 Canadian Staff member.

Do our US staff need work permits for Canada? We'll be riding through Canada for approximately 6 weeks.

If the tour takes place predominantly within Canada, then it would be expected that Labour Market Opinions would be needed for your US employees. If it is predominantly in the USA but crosses into Canada and no-one leaves or joins the tour in Canada, then the NAFTA business visitor provisions may apply.
