Travel with a work visa expiring in August

Postby nana18 on Sat Apr 02, 2011 4:45 pm

Hello,

I have a post graduation work permit that will expire at the end of August.

I am currently employed and my permanent residency application is under process.

I will be traveling abroad in April and returning to Canada the first week of May.

My question is: since my visa and work permit are nearing expiration (about 4 months by the time I'll be returning), are there chances I will be refused re-entry to Canada?

Thanks in advance

The risk would not seem to be significant, although it does exist. In fact, it always exists, as any temporary resident seeking admission to Canada, with or without a valid work permit, must continue to satisfy an immigration official of that he continues to meet such a definition.
