I am a british citizen within Canada as a tourist and would like to know if i get a temporary work permit would I be able to transfer this work permit to some other job if I get another offer and my primary employer approves ? Or does the new company have to go through the whole process of applying for an LMO and I have to re apply for a new work permit ?

Standard work permits are typically specific to the employer, position, and usually location of work. In such cases, a work permit cannot be used in a different circumstance than specified with some exceptions (i.e,. a consulting firm that contracts out the services of a foreign worker to a client site). If you obtain an open work permit, suich as under a Youth Program, then these are generally usable in any position other than those specifically excluded on the permit.

I have a similar question.. I am a citizen of India. I have got Canada work permit from my current employer in India for a client in Canada. Now, If I get another offer from a new employer either from India or Canada. Can I still use this Work Permit for my new employer.. Is the work permit transferable.?
