Temporary Work in Canada

Our company re-manufacturers equipment and has received a purchase order for a job located in Canada. Will our customer need to contact the HRSDC? This job will require several of our employees. Will they require Visa's and individual work permits?

It may be possible to obtain admission to conduct the work in questions under the Business Visitor provisions, in which case HRSDC Confirmation and work permits would not be a requirement.

Thanks for your reply. The Business Visitor provision you mentioned, are you referring to NAFTA? Since our employees will be actually working on equipment, I didn't know if we would qualify according to NAFTA.

If they are citizens of the USA or Mexico, then NAFTA would be suitable. If not, it would be under the provisions of Regulation 186. These provisions seem suitable under the circumstances that you have described. However, you may wish to use our online assessment in order to provide more detail and obtain a more accurate estimate of eligibility.
