I'm in Canada on a work permit and like to visit back home next summer...my question is can a temporary resident visa (expired long time ago) can be applied through mail to immigration center at Buffalo or Detroit ?.. like will buffalo or Detroit process the application if documents can be mailed rather then physically going there at the center. I know applying from back home is an option but i will appreciate a reply if applying from within Canada is possible.

Yes, you can apply by mail to one of these offices. However, if an interview is required, it will be held at the office that the case is submitted to.
