temporary multiple-entry worker visa and work permit!

Postby alperdogan on Sun Oct 14, 2007 6:12 pm

hello,

i have been working in Canada between May 2007 and October 2007, and i hold a multiple-entry temporary worker (w-1) visa in my passport. I am a Turkish citizen, and my original work permit expires on March 30, 3008. I went back home to Turkey for two weeks and now I am in the US, working here..

My question is: I am planning to come to Canada in November (next month), so can I still enter Canada with my current visa and work permit, even though I am only going to be staying for a couple of days?

thanks a lot for your feedback in advance,

Alp

Your possession of a valid multiple entry visa permits you to appear at a Canadian port of entry. Only an immigration official can determine admissibility at that point.

david,
by determining admissibility what are you specifically focusing on? So do you think that I might still be denied entry at the customs? (even though i have a valid work permit and multiple entry visa)

thanks

There is not enough information here to estimate the likelihood of admission. In the majority of cases, certainly, and individual with a valid entry visa is granted admission at the port of entry. The visa, however, permits appearance at the POE and does not confer automatic admissibility.
