Hello,
I have a job offer and its for a research group in a Canadian university. I am a graduating student but i am returning to do a PhD in the UK. I applied, at the end of March, for a student working holiday program work permit and as yet i've heard nothing back.
I did email them and got a reply back saying that it hadn't been logged into the system until 7 weeks ago, and it may take 4-6 weeks. but as yet still nothing!
i was wondering if anyone knew of any telephone service to try and get in contact. i've tried to re-email and to fax but again nothing. is there any other way of contacting them? currently i'd even be willing to do the trip to london (600 miles away from where i am!)
The contract is due to start on the 1st June and now i'm getting worried i'll miss out on this great summer placement.
as a last ditch attempt to take part in it, if i fail to get any response from them, is it possible to work unpaid with out a permit. i read on the CIC about "on campus" work?
any advice or help would be warmly welcomed,
Thanks all,
Su
