Hi,

My Husband will be going to canada on work permit for six months.I wanted to go with him and we are in india.I right now working as software engineer and will be taking an Leave of Absence.I dont have any plans to work in Canada. please let me know which type of visa should i apply for.

Are any documents required from my company. My plan is to take a 3 month leave and then at the end of 3 months i will extend it for 3 more months because at a strech my company will not give LOA for 6 months.will this any way effect.

When can i start processing my visa? My husband will be applying soon for work permit,But he will be applying through his company and i will be applying on my own.
Should he show any asset or bank balance?

Thanks

If you do not intend to work in Canada, then seeking a temporary resident (i.e., visitor) visa alone would suffice, but the information provided suggests the possibility of an open work permit as well. In either case, such an application may be submitted with your husband's case or separately afterwards.

Depending on the skill classification of his work and the duration of his work permit, it may also be possible for a spouse to seek an open work permit for the same duration as the principal work permit.
