Spousal Work Permit

Postby pacifica1984 on Sun Jun 10, 2007 1:54 am

Hi. I am a canadian citizen and my husband is a mexican citizen. We are currently relocating to edmonton, Alberta and are in need of finding someone who can help us with a work permit.

I have done alot of research on the 'work permit' but It seems to be extremely hard to find out which employers will even consider helping my husband get a work permit.

He has a strong background in retail sales and call centre support, but is willing to do just about anything in any field so we can be in Canada together. If anyone knows someone willing to hire or can help point us in the right direction I would greatly appreciate it.

There is no registry of employers seeking foreign workers. Online resources such as Working.com can be used to find employers in general, but policies regarding sponsoring foreign workers are individual to each employer.

For the types of positions you are describing, Service Canada Confirmation will have to be obtained. To be successful, the Canadian employers would have to be able to demonstrate that they had been unable to locate Canadians for the position.
