Hoping someone can shed some light...

I've done copious amounts of research and going around in circles. I'm a 34 year old Aussie girl and wishing to live and work in Canada for a year or two. However, due to my age, I cannot. So, I need sponsorship. However, I've done much looking around and although I have lots of experience in Hotels as a Front Office Clerk, Food and Bev Attendant, etc. I am becoming despondent.

I've read Front Desk Clerks are not listed as a skill shortage (or is this untrue?!) If not, does anyone know if it will be difficult for me to get a positive response for these sorts of jobs if I applied online. Or do you think I should just 'wing it' and try my chances once I arrive in Canada. I realise Australians don't need a tourist visa.

I've never had problems finding work with my skills here in Australia.

You will require a Service Canada Confirmation in order to be eligible to obtain a work permit in the type of occupation that you are describing. The viability of such an application would depend on the ability of the employer to demonstrate that Canadians were not available for the position.
