Canada Work Permit

Hello and thanks for having this usefull page and services.

To be short... I am sponsoring my husband, as far as I understand We can send an application for his work permit at the same time (and in the same envelope) as the main application. My question is about his status in Canada. He is Italian, He could just get out and enter again and have 6 more months of stay, but taking about practicity... Once we apply... is he maintaining his visitor status until we get a decision about his Work permit?.

Visitor status is not automatically maintained while a sponsorship application is pending. Extensions applications for such must be filed at the Case Processing Centre in Vegreville.
