Sponsership/work permit

Postby chrissystl on Sat Nov 19, 2005 7:32 pm

Hi, just a couple of quick questions

If someone is being sponsered via common law, can they apply for a working permit as well? Can they work if they get sponsered? (the cnd govn't website says that the person who is doing the sponsering has to be able to support the sponsered person for 3yrs).

Also, where is a good place to look for jobs? are there any agencies who help to recruit international people (particularly IT)? I am finding it very hard to look for jobs via the internet, and assistance would be of great help

Any help and information you may have about this would be great! :)

An applicant for immigration in the family class is eligible to seek a work permit. If the sponsorship application is inland, an open work permit may be granted following approval-in-principle.

I am not aware of any credible organization that seeks specifically to generally recruit foreign workers. Monster.ca and workopolis.com are otherwise good resources.
