Skilled work permit

Postby nyeland on Tue Jun 14, 2011 9:48 am

Hi,

I have recently got a job offer from Canadian employer. They have told me that they will apply for Skilled work permit and the process would be as follows :

1. They will apply for LMO.
2. Once LMO is recieved, it would be sent to me by fax/mail. Along with this, complete job offer letter would also be sent.
3. Once I have LMO then I have to apply for TRV ( residence visa).
4. Then I can travel to Canada and can apply for work permit at the ' port of entry'.

Please validate if this is the right process. I have serious doubts on work permit at ' port of entry'. As I understand its applicable only to resence permit exempt countries.

P.S. : I am in Indian resident but have been in Swedan for last 8 months on work permit.

Lookign forward to the replies.

Regards
nyeland

It is not accurately depicted; points 3 and 4 are confused. You would apply for a work permit at a visa office, they would issue an approval and an entry visa, and the work permit would be issued at the port of entry on the basis of said approval.
