Hi,
I have a job offer from an Indian IT company for a project in Canada i.e this will be a intra company transfer .
I have been given a formal Indian offer letter and told I will be given the Canadian offer letter once I join the company. Moreover, they have told me that I will be getting allowance (per diem) for the 1st month in Canada(alongwith my Indian salary) and they will start Canadian salary only from the next month.Meanwhile,they have asked me to keep some documents ready to apply for a short term work permit.
I have some queries based on the same :
a ) till what time can a employer pay allowance to a foreign national on a short term
work permit without breaking the law ??
b )How long can a foreign national work on a short term work permit (I have been
told that the project is initially for 6 months (typical contract duration ) but it is likely
to extend to 1 yr)
c ) I also have a PR application pending(in process) with the CIC. Will these
applications (PR and short term work permit) adversely affect each other i.e.
decision on one going -ve just because of the other.
