Settling as a pharmacist in canada

Postby pharmbady on Wed Dec 19, 2007 5:54 am

hello,

thanks for all the counsel you guys are giving to us!

I'd like to work as a pharmacist in Canada, i have done alot of data search and found out that:
I must evaluate my docs with PEBC
i must sit and pass the evaluation exam
i must do an internship /SPT from UOT if am to practice in toronto
i must sit and pass the qualifying exam
i must sit and pass the jurisprudence exam

now this is where the jinx is:
as you can see, the entire process can take like 2-3 years, since PEBC sets some of the exams twice in a year!

I was told i can work as a pharmacy technician as i process my paper work, however, getting the visa type to work as a pharmacy technician is what am finding hard. I can easily get the visitor visa, but i dont know how easy it is (if possible), to change from a visitor to a working visa!

i have no relative in canada, is there any way out for me! i guess there are people out there who are in a similar situation like i am!

thank you,
pharmbady
