Self-employed work permit

Postby sgozali on Thu Mar 06, 2008 3:19 pm

Hi David and everyone,

I posted a question a while ago regarding LMO eligibility for a mortgage broker. I'm a mortgage broker, working on a pure commission, employed by a company. I'm working under PGWP which will expire this August. I was just on the phone with Service Canada and they said that I don't need to apply for LMO because I'm self-employed and not taking any jobs away from Canadians, so I can just apply for a work permit.

I confirmed this with CIC, and they said that I need to send a business plan when applying for the permit. Anyone has any experience with Self Employed Work Permit and does anyone know what kind of business plan I have to create?

Thank you,
Susan
