Self-Employ on Work Permit

Postby DhanaGalindra on Tue Sep 27, 2011 11:04 am

Hi,

I have read some threads about self-employment while holding a work permit, but I didn't quite find the answers to my questions. So here are my circumstances and questions:

I just recently graduated from a university in Canada with one year work experience (coop program) and received a work permit:
Case Type: 20
Bonded: No
Employer: Any Employer
Occupation: Open EA
However, I'd like to register a business (self-employment) and would like to apply for a permanent residence visa.

So my questions are:
1. How does working for myself affect my eligibility to apply for a PR visa?
2. Can I still apply through Canadian Experience Class application? Am I eligible to apply for this CEC application now since I got a year work of experience through my coop program during my school years?
3. Can my business be in a form of sole-proprietorship or does it has to be corporation?

Thanks in advance
