Hello all, here's my story. All advice welcome. Thanks in advance
I came to Canada over 2 years ago, from the states. A company offered me a position and at the time I was looking for an opportunity to move somewhere and try something new. I have been in the custom electronics service industry for over 10 years. I came up to scope out BC and instantly fell in love. I accepted the position with the company. Living here I have managed to create a life that I always wanted. I am a part of the community, and I have a great deal of ties here with friends, girlfriend etc..
I was offered some other employment opportunities while living here. I decided to quit and accept another job offer. Before my permit expired ( i think 2-3 weeks before ) we applied for another permit through this other company. So a new LMO, and permit application went into processing. My future employer got refused on the LMO.. We don't exactly know why. He completed everything correctly, except we think maybe because he checked no instead of yes where it say's ( have you attempted to hire within Canada?) Which in my eyes defeats the whole purpose of an LMO.. My future employer advertised for 2 months on craigslist and the .gov site as well.
To make a long story short my permit just came back denied because we do not have an LMO confirmation from HRC. Now I must apply again with restoration status.
We sent in about 1 month ago a new LMO with the correction in place on the form. I'm not sure if the LMO will be accepted. From my research, if I get denied again that means I cannot stay in Canada. I am in no place to move, and cannot see myself living anywhere else. I would be torn from my life here and friends, girlfriend etc. As well as potential investments I have made here with my carreer. As nerve racking as it is, i'm trying to find a solution. The HRC said the new LMO is about 60 days out to start getting processed from last week when they called. My deadline for restoration status will end before I get conformation from HRC. So in my eyes its a risk.
What can I do?
Is it wise to just apply for a visitor pass, to buy some time?
Can I get my permit without an LMO?
Thanks
Seths
