Hi ,
I wanted to know

1. What is the quota for temperory skilled workers in Canada ?
2. While I have applied for Immigration can I try getting a job in Canada as a Temperory worker ? If Yes , will it affect my immigration process and will the time frame to obtain PR change ?

I am currently on H1B visa in USA

Thanks in advance

No quotas exist for Canadian work permits.

You may apply for a work permit while a permanent resident application is pending. If you obtain such, it is possible to expedite the processing of your PR application by potentially increasing your chances of an interview waiver.

Temporary foreign worker status in Canada also allows an individual to use the visa offices in the USA for a PR application. Although you are likely already using the Buffalo office, this can be a significant advantage for others. Finally, there had been discussion of creating a new inland stream for those with foreign worker status already in Canada; this is not yet implemented however.
