I am working in India (in software field) and my employer is sending me to Canada on a SPP work visa for 1 year assignment (work permit application not yet submitted).
My job is listed in NOC under category 2 (Natural and Applied Sciences and Related Occupations) and sub group 217.
My employer is ready to file dependant visa for my wife. My wife has got 4 year of IT experience and desire to work in Canada with me.
Can you please help me on below queries?

1. Can my wife apply for Open work permit? If yes, should she apply from India or it can be applied at the entry in Canada (reaching Canada on dependant visa)?

2. Please suggest if she should file dependant visa along with my work permit application?

Suggest if there is any other process to get WP for my depedant wife.

Assuming she is an Indian citizen, your wife may apply for an open work permit either at a visa office abroad (i.e., concurrently with or following your own application) or within Canada following arrival (i.e., assuming she previously sought visitor admission alone). Applying within Canada would mean considerable delays prior to her eligibility to work.
