Provincial and Federal application

Postby calgary on Mon Apr 13, 2009 5:40 pm

Hi David,

Last November, I sent my Alberta PNP or better known as AINP application to Edmonton. This is employer stream and I have my commonlaw partner as my dependent. Lately, my commonlaw found out that she is eligible in Federal Skilled Worker. She wanted to send an application as her is the principal applicant and I am her dependent (common law partner). My question is, Will this not be a conflict? Will this affect each application considering the first one is provincial and the other one is Federal??? Please, I need your advise.

Thanks!

At some point, you will need to decide if you intend to pursue the permanent resident application on the basis of a prospective nomination or through the Federal program. It would otherwise be potentially problematic to submit two separate applications for yourself, one as the principal and one as the dependent applicant.
