post-grad work permit question

Postby young11 on Thu Jun 30, 2011 1:00 am

Hi guys,

I have couple questions regarding to the post-grad work permit. I am a new graduate. My study permit and off-campus permit both expire on Jul 31. I applied for a 3-year post-grad work permit at the beginning of Jun. Apparently, It takes 60 work days to process my application. I probably will not receive my new permit til the end of Aug. So, I wonder if I am still legal to stay in Canada after my study/off-campus work permit expires? Also, I am currently working part-time on campus, can I keep working while I am waiting for my post-grad work permit?

Thanks,
Keith J

If you expect that your study permit will expire prior to the issuance of the prospective work permit, then extension of temporary resident status is needed for a period at least long enough to cover the gap.
