Photo Copies or Originals

Postby pavon on Wed Jul 04, 2007 5:18 am

Hi,

I am an Indian Resident and I applied for my work permit at Canadian Embassy in London. My lawyer prepared my application under Software Developer – Services (NOC 9990.5 or NOC 9990.6). And an open work permit application for my spouse.

While submitting the application the visa officer only requested photocopies. As I need to travel in short period of time I submitted photocopies of passport, Although I told her that I can submit my passport when I am back from my travel. But now I read on the website that originals are required for processing of applications.

Also, Is it required to submit NOC categorization document (details of which are also on the CIC website) with the work permit application ?

The case can be processed in its absence, but the original passport will be required in order to conclude the application.

NOC information is not critical to an application, but can be helpful in increasing clarity when it is relevant to eligibility in a program.
