Permanent residency while working outside Canada

Postby BCS on Tue Oct 17, 2006 11:06 pm

Dear Sir/Madam,

I have relocated here with one year work permit and resided in Calgary, Canada since August 2006. My PR package has been sent to Canadian embassy, Buffalo USA for two weeks. I have been informed from my supervisor that I will be assigned to work with another company outside Canada at the end of this year for six months. This means I have to resign from Canadian company and re-apply to Middle East company because of personnel tax system.

In my case, is there any affect to my score or point if I do not stay and work in Canada while my PR package is being proceeded in USA ?

Thanks for advise and regards,

If you were eligible for the points associated with Arranged Employment on the basis of your existing work permit, your relocation outside of Canada may mean that this is no longer the case. This could mean a reduction of as many as 15 points in your score.

Hi David,

Thank you for your advice.

One more question please:- How many months are required to proceed my PR package at Canadian embassy, Buffalo USA ?

Thanks and regards,

On average, between 12 and 24 months depending on the requirement for a personal interview.
