I am writing on behalf of my partner who is an Irish citizen currently living and working in Canada on an approved work permit. We've been living here for over a month now and though we're enjoying ourselves, it's not our ideal situation and my partner isn't totally happy in his new position. We're trying to get answers on what our options are, if there are any. He would like to become a permanent resident but we can't really tell from Immigration Canada's website, which route makes the most sense. He is a chef and has a year-long work permit. Is he allowed to apply for work elsewhere in Canada? Could he get another work visa at another place? How can he become a permanent resident? If anyone thinks they might know the answers to these questions, please help!
