Open Work Permit - Spousal Program

Hi,

I'm an Indian national and I have applied for a work permit for a duration of 2 years. I heard that my spouse will get a dependent permit which I can convert it into Open Work Permit.

But where should I apply for the Open Work Permit for my spouse? Should I apply it here in India or should I apply it after arriving in Canada?

This should ideally be sought in India concurrently with, or subsequent to, your own work permit application.

Thanks for the response.

My company sponsors the work permit for me. They say that they would sponsor dependent permit for my spouse. For this, my spouse has to fill IMM5257B form.

Will the same form is applicable for Open Work Permit? Or is there any other form to be filled? If so, please let me know.
