I am under the live in caregiver program and entered Canada last september 2010. My work permit will expire on september 2012 and my entry visa will expire on august 2012.
After 2 years under the live in caregiver program, I am eligible to apply for PR status and also apply for an open work permit at the same time. My question is, since my contract is only 2 years, do I need to extend my contract for 1 year o so to be able to apply for the open work permit? Do I need to get a new LMO? What are the requirements for the open work permit?
My other question is about the PR application. Do I need to have payslip from my employer as a documentation for the PR application under the live in caregiver? or it is enough that he pays CPP, EI and other taxes?
Is it true that my family back in my home country should pass the medical exam before I can be approved for the permanent residence?
Thank you.
