I am on a work permit and will be leaving Canada for another job. My last day of employment will be 15 September. I am planning to take a trip to the US and return back to Canada and then finally leave Canada for good on 12 October. I have the following questions.

1. Is my work permit required to be cancelled? If so then at what stage.
2. Will I have any issues with regards to be my travel to the US if my work permit is required to be cancelled (I already have a US Visit Visa)?

If you are required to surrender your work permit when leaving Canada, this would typically be stated specifically on the immigration document itself. If so, this would be done at the time of your cessation of employment in Canada.

Questions about US immigration should be referred to a specialist in that field.

Can you please share with me how did you get the work permit in Canada? I am currently in United States working for the last 3 years on H1B Visa and I am interested in Canadian Work Permit. If you cant do it, I'll understand but if you can anyways, I'll really appreciate it.
