Hey Andrew,
My husband and I want to migrate permanently to Canada, he currently works as an Instrumentation Technician and I as a Technician Engineer in Telecommunications and Networks. He and I both have more than 5 years experience in our respective areas and he recently completed his degree in Instrumentation. He and I had diplomas before.
We have been looking at the Canadian Immigration site and realized that the occupations they have listed do not include any that may apply to the jobs we currently hold. My husband however, worked in production for approximately 3 years and we were thinking of using that in our application.
We would however prefer to have jobs or even one job offer. What would be the best way to get this?
He completed a certificate course in Environmental Management that was offered by a school in Jamaica in collaboration with the Government of Canada. He completed the last module in British Colombia.
Will this help in our application?
Also, we were thinking of visiting and trying to personally contact companies that have vacancies. Do you think this is a good idea?
Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
