Hello,

I have an open work permit which expires in March 2011. I got this at the port of entry as my spouse had a skilled work permit which also expires in March 2011. His employer will be renewing his work permit. I currently am job hunting and do not have an employer who can file for my renewal. Both of us are IT professionals.
1)What are the documents needed for my open work permit extension?
2)What are the chances of rejection in case I do not have a job by the time I submit my renewal? I have worked in Canada from Apr 2010 to August 2010 and have a record of employment with my previous employer. Is LMO needed here?(as I am not sure if I will be having a job at hand when I submit my renewal)
3)How long does the open work permit extension process take? Is this something I can do at a port of entry?

Please help as this seems to be creating some tension!!
