Hi,

What would be the chances for a Congo native
to apply for the refugee status - after having been
rejected by US Immigration?
Does that affect Canada Immigration decision =
is it detrimental to the application?
or not.

Refugee applications are determined on a case by case basis. It is not possible to predict the likelihood of success based on the information provided.

I know you do not like to get into specifics of a case ..

I guess the general question - which may be of interest to others - is:
can a rejection (from any country, in this case) be detrimental to a visa application ?:
that would mean: Immigration would see this as a " red flag " of some sorts.
Plus, it may help me and others to understand how thorough the process is.

In lay terms: they don't care ? - or maybe you will say: of course they do [e.g ; question #45 would be: "have you applied for a visa - in any country before ...? "

A refusal from another country is not a formal part of the definition of a Convention Refugee. As such, it should not have a direct bearing on the outcome of such a case.
